Call for Applications – JoRMA Author Mentorship Program 2025
The Journal of Research Management and Administration (JoRMA) is a diamond open access international peer-reviewed journal covering all aspects of research management and administration. It is with great pleasure that we launch our Author Mentorship Program, which is designed to increase the confidence, capacity, and willingness of research managers and administrators (RMAs) to share their expertise by becoming authors.
JoRMA’s Author Mentorship Program pairs budding writers with published authors who will provide assistance for up to six months while mentees develop their ideas into an article in any of the formats accepted by JoRMA.
JoRMA is now accepting applications from both mentors and mentees.
Participating in our Author Mentorship Program offers mentors a valuable opportunity to give back to their field, empower new authors, develop their professional skills, and potentially expand their academic network and research collaborations. Participating in the mentorship program can contribute to a mentor's reputation as an expert in their field and will raise their profile within the community. Mentoring can also expose mentors to new research directions and emerging trends in their field.
Participating in our Author Mentorship Program offers mentees an opportunity to learn from published authors, make valuable connections within the academic community, and obtain a valuable addition to their CV/Resumé.
Mentor assistance will be provided for up to six months. This includes online meetings at months 1, 3 and 5. At the first meeting, an action plan will be discussed and approved. This will be followed-up and updated at month 3. The month 5 meeting will serve to define and approve the final actions before submission of the paper.
The program has one annual cohort.
Application processApplicants to be either a mentor or a mentee should submit this form by November 29th and attach a short CV/Resumé. The application is reviewed by a sub-group of three members of the Editorial Board, and successful applicants will be notified by December. The program starts from 1st January 2025.
Mentors are expected to demonstrate expertise in fields that are within JoRMA’s scope and have previous experience as an author in a peer-reviewed journal. They should also have experience as a peer reviewer and ideally have experience as author advisor or mentor. Crucially, they must show commitment to supporting their mentee.
