Call for expressions of interest to join the editorial board of JoRMA

JoRMA, the Journal of Research Management and Administration, is looking to expand its editorial board to support the journal’s growth and future ambitions. We are looking for new board members, specifically from the following regions:

  • Asia
  • Australasia
  • Middle East
  • Central and South America

JoRMA is an international, peer-reviewed journal aimed at those interested in the management and administration of research in any sector or organisation. We publish articles, essays, and papers covering all aspects of research management and administration (RMA). JoRMA is a diamond open access journal published by Coventry University in the UK.

JoRMA welcomes submissions on topics relevant to RMA — the management and administration of research and innovation, namely:

  • strategy and policy
  • governance, management and leadership
  • information systems, processes, procedures and administrative systems
  • finance and compliance
  • researcher development
  • communication, impact, and enterprise
  • responsible research and innovation, and research integrity
  • career progression for researchers and research-related professionals
  • equality, diversity, inclusion, and research culture
  • open research, open science, open access, open innovation
  • assessment & evaluation
  • partnerships and collaborations

For the editorial board positions, expertise within the broad field of Research Management and Administration, particularly in the context of academic and practitioner publishing, is essential.  In addition to our goal of improving geographic coverage, we are seeking individuals with relevant skills and a passion for contributing to the growth of the journal and the profession more broadly.

JoRMA is an independent, diamond open access journal — free to read and free to publish. As such, the journal is run by a team of volunteers. All board positions are voluntary and unpaid.

We strongly encourage applications from Asia, Australasia, the Middle East, and Central and South America, and from all areas of research management and administration. Applications from academics and research professionals are equally welcome. We particularly would like to encourage applications from underrepresented, minoritised and/or marginalised groups.

If you are interested in joining JoRMA’s editorial board, please register with the journal and then send a short covering letter outlining your relevant experience to the managing editor, Simon Kerridge at s.r.kerridge@kent.ac.uk. *

The deadline for submissions is Friday 27th February 2026.
