About the Journal
Aims and scope
The Journal of Physiotherapy in Work and Health aims to publish contemporary research, reviews, discussion papers, opinion pieces and editorials in relation to occupational health physiotherapy practice. We are pleased to receive articles from those involved in research, private and clinical practice as well as physiotherapy students.
We invite submission from a range of research methodologies and topics.
JPWH follows the processes and guidelines laid out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE- https://publicationethics.org/ ). As such, all authors will be required to comply with these standards.
Authorship: all listed authors should have made a substantial contribution to the study; either in terms of design, implementation, or analysis.
Plagiarism: plagiarism is taken very seriously and any allegations of plagiarism will be investigated. All works submitted for publication should be original, with use of appropriate referencing (hyperlink to referencing section in guidance for authors) when the work of others has been drawn upon.
Conflict of interest: all authors should declare any conflicts of interest, including financial issues.
JPWH will issue errata, corrections, and retractions in accordance with best practice and the guidelines as stated by COPE.
The peer-review process of the Journal of Physiotherapy in Work and Health (JPWH) Journal is based on the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers (Committee on Publication Ethics, 2017). The Journal is committed to following best practices on ethical matters and the prevention of publication malpractice is a priority for the journal editors and editorial board. The Journal offers a supportive and professional approach to help authors develop their articles.
The editor will carry out an initial screening of all manuscripts which are submitted, for suitability. Manuscripts which do not meet the JPWH requirements will be rejected without review. Those that do meet the requirements will undergo a double-blind peer review process, which means that the identities of the reviewers and the author(s) are concealed from each other. In order to facilitate this process, the author(s) must ensure that the manuscript does not contain any identifying information, such as names, place of work or organisations involved in the study. The author should use “X” in the manuscript and details can be completed should the manuscript be accepted for publication.
Following review, the feedback and recommendations are assessed by the editor, who will then contact the author(s) with the decision and return the reviewed manuscript.
Open access policy
All research articles published in the Journal of Physiotherapy in Work and Health journal are fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download and share. Articles are published under the terms of Creative Commons which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Our preferred licence is the Creative Commons Attribution v4.0 International licence.
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
